Wait until we hit 2050 and we’re forced to watch reruns of The Walking Dead on the Moon. Might happen sooner, come to think of it.

For some reason, this post sparked my imagination. Is it because Homer is someone I pay attention to? Homer sits upon his throne of crushed beer cans and pizza boxes, controller gripped tightly in his hand, as a constant barrage of explosions and gunfire floods the television screen before him. The flickering light illuminates his face, twisted into a manic grin as he ruthlessly mows down hordes of virtual zombies.

The sounds of screams, growls, and gunshots fill the room, coming from the TV and blending with Homer's occasional curse or grunt of frustration. The volume is turned up high, creating an almost deafening effect.

Pineapples are the symbol of hospitality. When you see a pineapple it usually means “Welcome!” Interesting you kinda knew that on some level.

Also… is your religion Jain or Buddhist? I also respect insect life and try to avoid stepping on ants. Although I will kill a centipede or a scorpion. You are kinder than I.

I love the free-wheeling thoughts in this poem.

I felt happy reading it.

I'm glad it made you happy. And thank you for letting me know about the pineapple symbolism:) I do connect with a lot of Buddhist ideas, yes.

Well done. I especially love the part about the classics. It reminded me of the phrase, “youth is wasted on the young”.

This poem was fascinating in its abstractness but also in its random specificity.

Feels like all the buzzing thoughts of a collective conscious washing over you. Letting it flow without needing it to BE something particular. 🙏

You're still one of the very few substack blokes/dames I read all the way to the bottom of the page. Keep that shit up brother. I appreciate you.

Poem expresses the powers that could be.

Bugs, spiders squashed by shoe easy to do. Quell the small. Raid them all. Power bullies grow up to kings of state and smash the fate of protesters fearful of their big shoes that may overshadow their own weight crushing with the same blow. Better not to hurt the small, but microbes may speak and In millions mare the really big show.

I'm the spider catcher in our house. They all get named Fred and then I scoop them up in a plastic cup to set them free outside.

I have a battery operated leaf blower I use to shoo bugs out the door. I pour 4711 cologne in a plastic spray bottle as my pest control. Bugs hate citrus but I love the smell.

Another good one. I couldn't help make a connection between the Walking Dead and the lantern flies. Usually, when they spare a life on that show, it comes back at them in a bad way.
