Strange how paranoia can link up with reality now and then

This is perfect. Just what I need to shake me up a little bit. I can be such a creature of habit, but this is a beautiful reminder that the winds of change can come from all places.

That was so beautiful, and for me so very timely.. as a writer of speculative fiction myself, entering a certain stage of life… single, and with two amazing grown up sons.. I have found myself unsettled, probably for longer than I care to admit, and dreaming of moving toward a new existence, wherever that may be. I'm so ready to be unstuck… and really take control of my craft, to be the best version of my writer self. Your poetry and “garbage notes “ really moved me. Love. Love.

Thank you so much. Im glad you found this relatable. What kinds of speculative fiction do you like to write? Would love to take a look sometime. I know it can be tough to get unstuck. It takes practice.

I'll be posting soon.. but first things first - I have a duty to fulfil as a book editor. Once I've completed my current project, I'd be happy to swap prose and share some of my short stories. I'm just enjoying reading other writers for the moment. Your poetry is inspired. Keep writing.

I liked the structure of this poem. It atched the optimistic tone. I skipped along the lines as if I were preparing to set out on a new adventure. Change is necessary for continued growth. It is best to accept it as a gift.

To choose to see it as a gift, that's the essence of freedom. Thank you, K.C.

Yessir … so filled with hope and suddenly I’m trudging stuck in the mud with the weight of others’ words sinking me further from my goal … time to move along my friend 😤 move over

Stunning writing, Franco. I never considered caffeine a hindrance to writing, but you make a good point. Well done for giving it up. Not an easy feat, I know. I've had my moments :)

I enjoyed your poem and notes, Franco. I love to change things up. The artist part of me cannot understand other artists who paint the same subjects in the same style. But it's suitable for sales, though. Recognition. I will take experimentation, myself.

Interesting that you mention writing under different conditions. I had to relearn how to write when I got sober. Part of me was afraid I’d be boring. Or not have enough emotion behind it.

Franco Amati's avatar

Yes that's the fear talking, but we can be just as interesting if not more so without the extra substance.

I love your method of sharing a poem and then explaining it for us (so that we don't misinterpret your intended message). Provides me with a deeper insight.

I think just about everyone in the world right now is on the brink of big changes -- many of them still asleep, unaware of what's around the corner. It's good to ponder the idea of change.

I agree. We need room for reflection and interpretation. The world is too rush rush rush. But we need to step back sometimes and think, feel, and communicate true intent. Thank you, Connie!
