"wherever you’re going next

is chaos"

and wherever you just came from

is chaos"

I'm fairly certain this sums up our entire freaking life experience. Nice work and happy Friday!

hahaha, so true. And thank you, David. Same to you, brother.

Your poetry inspires me. You told me a while back I shouldn't be afraid to try poetry myself, so I took your advice. -I've published a couple here and am working on a new one now. Thanks for the encouragement and the content you bring forward to encourage others

I'm really happy to hear that I've inspired you in that way. Looking forward to reading that new one you're working on.

We all need some kind of surrogate womb space.

Top notch.

Thanks. And well put—surrogate womb space is a good way to describe it.

I have a little space under the stairs, with a door. I put a gel bed, cushions. My get away space to hide. As much as I love being around people, I need this.

sounds like a nice little getaway space. all writers need something like this

Always great to sing in the car too, no one can hear me off key. Chaos coming & going... great read 😊

haha, keep on singing

You always hit on such valid, everyday truths, Franco. For years I'd take my lunch break in my car, but I rarely ate. That's when I'd fire up my laptop and get some fiction writing in. That back seat was my creative space for 30 precious daily minutes, and my refuge from the "chaos" of family and work. It was necessary alone-time, and I always felt like a better person after.

thank you, we find our refuge where we can :)

public spaces can be so draining.

I can defenetly relate to this poem! I'v also done that, escaped to my car and just zone with some good music, it's like a cocoon it isolates you from the world and gives you the gap to recharge alone.

Well done!!

Expand full comment

yes, a cocoon is a good way to describe it

Great poem.

There have been times I have used my car in this way - as an escape. As a way to catch a moment to myself in solitude.

I really enjoyed this. Thanks :)

My car is my sanctuary. You wouldn’t believe the amount of “important” lunch meetings I’ve skipped for “appointments” when an appointment means sitting in my car.

hahaha. excuse me but I have to go, I'm running a little late for doing nothing in my car

White lies don’t count when they benefit your peace of mind.

“What did I miss?”

“Nothing important.”

Imagine that.

My car doesn’t have the ability to drone on about itself (yet!).

Nice. Best place to park car to get away from everything would be a quiet park or some end road. Hear a whole lot of silence, the occasional wind maybe, bird chirps maybe....and If not some almonds, I say gummies do the trick :-)

yes, good idea all around :)

Definitively relate to this, I must have ‘me time’ daily: I need to be away from stimulation. I needed to be away from people.

<3 it's important for sure
