Took my time to read and re-read, the ending is powerful, sort of hard to forget (hope that doesn't sound excessive!) ... "... let silence and motion decide our fates"
You're sounding great on this one! Love the neurobiology bits. It's a great point.....I tend to talk so much, haha, so just staying quiet and not talking is like hella difficult, especially when other people are around.
I love this piece. When I was coming of age, the prevalent attitude among my peers seemed to be an atheistic scientism, captured by a flippant assertions like "love is just brain chemicals". You've sort of bamboozled the reductionists.

Gotta say, that ending really stuck with me too. Found my self re-reading too, at least a couple of times.
thanks Mog! I appreciate the close read.
i'm glad you enjoyed that ending. I hoped it would be resonant. Thank you, CT.

thank you, Victoria. It can be tough to just stay present and listen, I know. Thanks for reading!
"a conflict between physics and perception" -my fave
thank you Scarlett, glad you like that part
Quite a weighty piece, one magnified by hearing- not just reading.
❤️ thank you Marinarena
Nice - I especially loved the part about all that is involved in staying silent.
