Freedom in a simpler time. It certainly has plenty of appeal. I would be a terrible hunter. I would hope to live in a land with a lot of berries.

I'd be a terrible hunter too? Gathering, now that I think I can do! Lol

These lines right here, so beautiful:

"and we were all content

with the blowing wind

and the water at our feet,

with the touch of the people

all around us, with the voices

of our ancestors, whispering…

with the images of our gods,"

There's a lot to ponder here. I too question how "right" the direction is of our society. But thankfully it's constantly evolving. Brilliant musings. Good luck with that story. I'm looking forward to reading it *when* it's published.

I’d love to read that story when it’s done. I think the two species got along about the same as we do today with each other. Nice one day not so much the next. 😊

I agree. I think fundamentally we probably haven't changed all that much. And thank you, hopefully it'll be finished soon and then I'll start sending it out.

What a beautiful poem and, Franco, what an utterly beautiful concept for a novel. That’s a book I will read, no matter how you make it available.

I understand how you will feel hamstrung by wanting to get it ‘right’. I hope you find your way through! If you ever want anyone to read it pre-publishing, put me on your list! I’d be so happy to help out.

I’m pretty sure there is evidence of DNA overlap between Neanderthal and Homo sapiens and that this can be picked up in testing. What a beautiful thing - to think of the uniting between these two people and that some of us might be part flower people.

Thank you, Zivah ❤️ I will certainly keep that in mind. And yes, it's been determined that some of their DNA exists in us. What that means, what aspects of them overlap with us, is something that we can always speculate upon. Cheers.

“The other ways of being human”. This poem and your description got me into that feelings wonderings place…what a great place to take pause between the reality that this overlapping time with humans and Neanderthals happened and that we are still in a place to fathom guesses as to what actually occurred then and there. Easy to think there was violence, there certainly is still violence now and it is increasing not decreasing even with our big brains and systems and time passing …isn’t it so lovely to think about the peaceful giving actions and gestures of love that perhaps Neanderthals felt and behaved by…and pay those thoughts the most mind. So much more interesting. I’m enjoying your writing, and thank you for reading and interacting with mine too. 💜

Cheers to you Franco :) Writing is such a powerful pathway to encourage reflection and thoughtfulness and daydreaming and wonderings. It’s a window into how peoples minds and thoughts lead…the raddness is in reading about stuff people are passionate about.
