All to often we ignore the good around us, is it because the bad at the moment outweighs the good? arguably.

However i agree we must hold on to good with all we have.

Yeah there is a lot of bad, no doubt about that

i just posted a note about how i'm choosing to believe a fireworks display that started as I finished my workout was just for me to celebrate.

like you say, i'm trying to choose to see life as kinder now. i used to think everyone was out to get me. i was extremely defensive at all times.

now i'm softer and the words seems softer in return.

That's a good mindset, Elizabeth. Happy that you can relate to this.

" every day it’s like I walk around

thinking I’ve lost some infinite thing,

not realizing that it’s my perspective

that needs to be adjusted…"

I love this and I think of this often. How can my perspective be adjusted. What does this situation look like with a different mindset etc.

Another great piece. Well done 🙏❤️

Reading this dead tired at the end of a long day. Going to re-read it tomorrow morning as part of my morning meditation. Thanks for it, Franco. I can already tell this poem will be one of my favorites.

I agree with this mindset, as while life can be stressful and we see the bad, we overlook what is good and not settle into the benefits of life.

..until it's not

once, one famous former Soviet/then Russian/now "enemy of the state" Russian (luckily for him, he was abroad already) rock musician said something along this lines(obviously before all the new "enemy of the state" thing) , and somebody quoted him on some forum I participated in(still golden era of forums, close to its end).

I said "those are words of somebody who happens to live more or less ordinary life in more or less ordinary circumstances". "everything is in our head, depends on us" etc.

Of course it is, to a large degree-but then somebody takes a spade for example and hits your head, and here's the end of what depended on you. It appears a lot depended on what was in this somebody's head.

I was very right-unfortunately so.

You're also very right-it's very hard to stop and to rest, and sometimes one should make himself.. Just make himself, and see that "life is beautiful that way". All the things we start taking for granted after we grew up.

PS sorry tons of typos

This poem reminds me that I make my own misery. I want life to be the way I think it should be instead of accepting it as it is. Perspective is everything. If I focus on what's right in my life, what's wrong represents a piddling by comparison. Thanks for the cogent reminder, Franco.
