yes! put the words down

I tend to get lost in the utility of what I create (what will it do for me? For my 'career'?) at the expense of the process. Thank you for this beautiful reminder to simply let it happen!

How I love your honesty in everything you write Franco. This is a wonderful piece regarding the vulnerability we face every time we gift our work out to the world, the joy we feel when it is appreciated and the up and down cycle writing and publishing has. Loved it.

Lacing up your landing shoes. Felt that. It’s so hard to let yourself feel excited sometimes. Knowing what’s just on the other side of that (disappointment, rejection, etc.). Hopefully putting yourself in more of these situations more often lets you one kick off those shoes

When I first read this poem, I thought it was about finding romance again, perhaps even at an advanced age. It felt good, deep in my bones. For me as a writer, after reading your notes at the bottom, it resonated even more deeply. No, "I don't know," but it's OK because I do know that writing gives me immense pleasure, whether or not it's recognized or rewarded. Recognition is the GRAVY! Yeah! Thanks, Franco. Wonderful piece!

aw, I love hearing alternative interpretations. I can definitely see how the poem can be read that way too. <3

I'm curious what magazine it was. You don't have to say. But I like how you describe the feeling in such a relatable way. It's like a rollercoaster at times.
